Aadya's Hug

Aadya’s Hug was established by comedian and mimicry artist Badava Gopi and his wife Haritha Gopi in memory of their daughter on her birthday 18Th October 2007. “The purpose of the group is to entertain and help underprivileged children, and ensure that these children have an opportunity to celebrate their childhood.”

A music album titled ‘Aadya UKG – B’ was released by film producer-actor S.P.Charan and the first copy presented to director Venkat Prabhu. The lyrics for the album were penned by N. Muthukumar and set to music by ‘Saadhaga Paravaigal’ Sankar. Soundarya Rajinikanth, Bosky and Anuradha Sriram were some of the celebrities who were present. Mimicry, dances and singing were part of the show. All the children were gifted a school bag packed with balloons, whistles and candies.

Eleven-year-old Athul, Aadya’s brother has started a group called Aadya’s Cousins, which presented a dance show. Mr. Gopi said that film personalities have expressed interest in forming a trust to reach out to more underprivileged children.
